History of  Karainagar Divisional Secretariat

In the Northern region of Sri Lanka lies the Jaffna District which is devided into fifteen administrative divisions among which four divisions are islands namely Valanai, Kayts, Delft and Karainagar. The Karainagar division was previously administered by Kayts Assistant Government Agent 's office and came into existence as a separate Assistant Government Agent's division on 07.04.2003.
